His Philosophy:
The "New Deal" was FDR's big plan for America. Unlike Hoover, FDR believed that it was extremely important that during an economic crisis, the government was able to help the country's financial state. He recognized the reality that citizens could not do it on their own and even though he was criticized for being too involved, bettering America's economy was more important than the beliefs of those who opposed him.

FDR wasn’t an economist, but he understood the need for people to have jobs
and also understood that jobs put money into peoples’ pockets and that in turn
was good for the economy. In this intuition he was right. U.S. GDP, which had
declined by 25% between 1929 – 1933, grew by 60% in the 1933 – 1940 period (Danzer).

"The First 100 Days"
In FDR's first 100 days he created the New Deal to get America out of the Great Depression. This consisted of the 3 R's, Relief, Recovery, and Reform. For Relief he created the Civilian Conservation Corporation (CCC), the Works Progress Administration (WPA), and the Social Security act. For recovery he came up with the Agricultural Adjustment Act and The National Industrial Recovery Act. Lastly to complete the new deal he established the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and bank reform.

Roosevelt created numerous acts to help with the Great depression which some succeeded, but some also did fail. The citizens were happy that FDR was taking bold action in the recovery of the United states. As FDR put it, “The country needs and . . . the country demands bold, persistent experimentation. It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something.” Roosevelt worked hard in the first 100 days to better the United States of America.
Quotes:
"In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way."
"Democracy cannot succeed unless those who express their choice are prepared to choose wisely. The real safeguard of democracy, therefore, is education. "
"A nation that destroys its soils destroys itself. Forests are the lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people. "
"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself. "
"Here is my principle: Taxes shall be levied according to ability to pay. That is the only American principle. "
"Let us never forget that government is ourselves and not an alien power over us. The ultimate rulers of our democracy are not a President and senators and congressmen and government officials, but the voters of this country. "
"But while they prate of economic laws, men and women are starving. We must lay hold of the fact that economic laws are not made by nature. They are made by human beings. "
**"True individual freedom cannot exist without economic security and independence. People who are hungry and out of a job are the stuff of which dictatorships are made. "**
